Outreach is at the core of Kenilworth Union Church. We are committed to serving the greater community in meaningful ways. We focus on supporting children and their education, emergency services, physical and mental health, or agencies that provide a range of services to a particular impoverished community.

Each year, Kenilworth Union makes small grants to approximately 40 not-for-profit benevolence agencies. In addition, our volunteers participate in various service programs, projects, or events at many of the supported agencies, all of which are selected during a formal annual process.

Annual Outreach Benefit Leadership

Interested in volunteering for 2024 April Outreach Benefit, which is the largest source of funds for Kenilworth Union’s Agency Grant Program? For more information, please contact Outreach Committee co-chair’s Denise Akason and  Mike Revord.

Outreach Benevolence Agencies

Kenilworth Union Church annually contributes money and time to over 40 social service and educational organizations in the Chicago metropolitan area. These agencies provide vital health care to the uninsured, food and shelter for the needy, child care, family services, education and training, and much more. Grants range from $1,700 to $10,000.

Rummage Sale

A tradition dating back to the 1940’s brings Church and community together to donate quality goods, sort and arrange sale displays, and shop, shop, shop for a good cause! All proceeds benefit the agencies supported by the Church.

Day by Day Fundraiser

The Day by Day Calendar is an Outreach fundraiser. Also, it’s a desktop flip calendar featuring daily quotes of inspiration, faith, comfort, and gentle humor. Founded in 1979 by two Kenilworth Union Church members, Betsy Fyfe and Becky Jones, Day by Day continues to be created by an all-volunteer committee who gathers quotes, assembles the calendars, staffs Sunday Sales, and processes mail order shipments.

The calendars are available for purchase in November and December and net proceeds from the sale of the calendar benefit Kenilworth Union Church’s Outreach Agencies. If you have questions or would like to submit quotes for consideration, please send us an email.

Giving During Advent
