Confirmation at Kenilworth Union Church
2024 Confirmation Sunday is May, 12, 2024
Ninth Grade is confirmation year at Kenilworth Union Church. Older teens who have not previously been confirmed are also welcome to enroll.
Confirmation is a course of education, exploration, and faith formation that challenges what youth know and believe about the Christian faith. By the end of their course, each confirmation student will be given the opportunity to say “yes” to being confirmed at Kenilworth Union, and to join the Church as adult members.
Two Course Options:
Confirmation instruction happens in two formats explained below. Students in both courses are expected to complete additional confirmation requirements on their own time and are confirmed together as one class at Confirmation Sunday.
Classroom Course
The Classroom Course is a traditional confirmation format in which students attend a series of Sunday morning classes and attend additional information sessions and events. Wilderness Course
2023 Confirmation Wilderness Course has completed their coarse.
The Wilderness Course covers the same coursework as the classroom course, but the work is completed during an intensive, week long wilderness trip before the school year begins for rising Freshmen. Students on the wilderness trip will have two class discussions each day during the trip and will end the trip with their faith statement writing workshop. This experience is perfect for those who want to experience the wilderness and for those whose schedules might not allow for Sunday class attendance.
